In the gaming world, the last few decades have been generally dominated players such as Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft, a new Player has entered the market recently which was introduced by Google.
Google announced a new stream-based console known as the Stadia. This announcement comes shortly after Google hinted at the mysterious console last week. Stadia which comes along with its own gaming console which can be connected using its wifi and this has a good advantage compared to other gaming consoles which have been promised by Google.
Stadia is going to be a stream-based, cross-platform console that would allow users to play their games through any chrome enabled screen, including smartphones.
Google’s Stadia which is cloud-based rendered gaming platform where the user doesn’t require much of the hardware requirement which is a problem concerning gamers and gaming communities.
This has been far looked up by Google and found a solution by introducing Stadia. Gamers can easily access the platform and play with 60-120 fps depending upon the speed of broadband connection which you have. Along with this, it can support 4k screen resolution support.
What makes Stadia outstanding from other platform is its “ultra” AI computation capabilities.
For eg, if you get stuck at a certain point in the game you pause the game and can easily check the tutorial either by asking your google assistant or you can manually browse through the youtube.
Going back to gaming console which is specially designed for Stadia gamers, where it has an inbuilt voice recognition system where you can easily access google assistant.Google assistant can play a huge role while playing the game. The console is also said to be compatible with most keyboards and controllers.
Google owns both the distribution(Chrome browser) and the associated technology(AI, ML and Google Cloud Services) making them well positioned to solve this problem.
Adding YouTube into this mix gives them a huge advantage on the already thriving esports industry giving Google the ability to own both the Demand(gamers and YouTubers) and the Supply(Remote games delivered from the cloud via chrome).
This will also open up Game development (on the cloud) for the developer community potentially making it a self-sustaining to develop better and better games in effect creating to that like in Apple’s App Store.
Another great feature of the Stadia is being able to support a wider and massive range of battle royal games at the 1000+ player count. This is a great eye catcher for companies, especially with the popularity of battle royal games like Apex, Fortnite, and PUBG. This could even affect the smartphone market since Google plans to release remote gaming only for the Pixel line to start with.
You can expect Google stadia release by the mid of 2019. Gamers and the gaming community is looking upon and eagerly waiting for the release of the new gaming platform. This is going to be a groundbreaking achievement if Google can successfully deliver and live up to the expectation which they have given to the gamers and developers.
